    Installation

    For PC Users:

    Use the included installer to select your NebulaTempRepository Folder to install
    the collection there. Or, you can simply copy all "n2p" files to your
    Nebula "Programs" folder and copy all "n2v" files to your "Vectors" folder.

    For Mac Users:

    Copy all "n2p" files to your Nebula "Programs" folder and copy all "n2v" files to your "Vectors" folder.

    “160A Compressor Collection For Nebula Pro” is a collection of 26 programs, all sampled at 96kHz and tested to retain accuracy at 44.1kHz and 48kHz sample rates with the latest version of Nebula3 Pro.

    You must be using an updated version of Nebula Pro Commercial for this collection.

    It is designed to be used with the “Reverb” instance of Neb Pro.

    160-COMP-LITE1
    This program has been edited to provide the 160A with accuracy at a shallow Threshold. The Ratio control reads “21” at the lowest setting, which is measuring a “2:1” Ratio. Load this setting for the lightest amount of natural compression from the 160A. It is recommended to leave the Threshold at its setting and adjust the Ratio to taste. If you wish to use a Ratio Deeper than “6:1” which is designated as “61” then load the “LITE2” Program. This Program uses 8 Kernels of distortion. The “Drive” function is edited to its most accurate setting when loaded, but can be adjusted to taste.

    This program is the same as above without any harmonic distortion.

    160-COMP-LITE2
    This program has been edited to provide the 160A with accuracy at a shallow Threshold. The Ratio is edited to aproximately a 4:1 Ratio. Load this setting for a moderate amount of natural compression from the 160A. It is recommended to leave the Threshold at its setting and adjust the Ratio to taste. If you wish to use a deeper amount of compression then load the “LITE3” Program. This Program uses 8 Kernels of distortion. The “Drive” function is edited to its most accurate setting when loaded, but can be adjusted to taste.

    This program is the same as above without any harmonic distortion.

    160-COMP-LITE3
    This program has been edited to provide the 160A with accuracy at a moderate level of compression. The Ratio is edited to aproximately a 6:1 Ratio. Load this setting for a moderate amount of natural compression from the 160A. It is recommended to leave the Threshold at its setting and adjust the Ratio to taste. If you wish to use a deeper amount of compression then load the “MED1” Program. This Program uses 8 Kernels of distortion. The “Drive” function is edited to its most accurate setting when loaded, but can be adjusted to taste.

    The “160A Compressor Collection For Nebula Pro” provides you with the absolute accuracy of the compression and harmonic distortion of the 160A from low ratios to deep compression.

    Each program has been carefully edited to provide a setting that loads with the utmost in accuracy compared to the original unit. Because compression is specific to the way that it operates on actual program material, there are multiple ways that Nebula Pro can interpret the way that it reproduces sound. By making use of the engine and setting levels carefully as compared to actual audio with the real hardware unit, you get the best performance and repeatable confidence in the analog quality of the resulting sound.

    The best use of the 160A Compressor is to load the Program that corresponds to the amount of compression desired. Light setting 1 is the least amount of compression, and Heavy setting 3 is the greatest amount of compression.

    You can adjust the Threshold, Ratio, and Drive as desired for any Program but the starting point when it first loads is the most perfectly adjusted to the sound of the original unit.

When used with a Preamp chosen afterwards, this adds the dynamic volume changes at the given Threshold and Ratio settings along with a dynamic changing harmonic distortion, creating an incredible rich analog texture that is unrivaled in the digital recording world.
