The following list of audio samples are provided for you to hear the amazing Melbourn Classic Console in context of actual mixes. I have selected a wide variety of my own music sessions to let you hear a stripped down, bare-bones example of using the Melbourn as it is intended to be used, without the benefit of effects like reverb, delay, chorus, compression, and without the benefit of any EQ.
These sessions employ a few different channel settings of the Melbourn going to tape and back from tape, so you can hear the interaction. Regarding tape, I am only using the Tape Booster Plus plug-in (same as N4/N3 library), as it only affects harmonic distortion saturation and does not change the dynamic and frequency spectrum, so any tonal changes are coming strictly from the console. Videos demonstrate the sessions in-use and I discuss details of the process, things I like, recommendations for use, some of the science etc.
