About The AMK98 CONSOLE EQ AND CHANNEL STRIP For Nebula Pro

About The AMK98 CONSOLE EQ AND CHANNEL STRIP For Nebula Pro brings this incredible channel strip/equalizer to NebulaPro. It requires the lastest version of NebulaPro and is optimized to run in the “Reverb” version of NebulaPro. The ‘9098’ is an extremely flexible equalizer that is used for mixing and for mastering. It has amazing sounding wide bell and shelf, narrow peak, extremely narrow notch for mastering or track fixing, and unique ‘glow’ and ‘sheen’ bell and shelf shapes that are unique to this eq. It is the result of Neve’s design concept for making the best sounding tools that also operate more efficiently than his earlier designs.
It has been sampled at 96kHz and will convert to any rate directly within the NebulaPro engine. When used at 96kHz, it uses the maximum sample size and length, and because it is sampled at this rate, loads very quickly and takes the largest amount of computer resources (unless using a higher rate than 96kHz). If used at 48kHz or 44.1kHz, the programs will take a little longer to load, but once loaded, use a smaller amount of computer resources. In fact, at lower rates the programs use the same resources as they would if sampled directly at the same lower rates. All programs have been tested for these three rates and remain extremely accurate.

About The Hardware

About The AMK98 CONSOLE EQ AND CHANNEL STRIP. The analog hardware device that this collection is designed by Neve in the 90’s. His earlier classics like the 1073, 1081, 1084 are still considered some of the best sounding preamps and eq’s. One of the things that Neve wished to improve upon in his designs in following years was to maintain the sound quality while using current technology to improve performance. This meant design that produced less heat, used consistently less energy, had the potential for better specs., but also avoided the pitfalls of newer circuits. The result is a genius design that has become a favorite modern classic among major studios and mastering facilities. Nee designed an integrated circuit that uses only the best aspects of the design without producing unwanted harmonics that are unpleasant sounding. Then, he uses transistors matched to the specifics of the discrete IC’s to perform complimentary tasks and maintain performance without sonic sacrifice. The input includes an intentional transformer-like stage made to produce low amounts of pleasant harmonics, and the entire stage outputs to a transformer.

The eq circuitry is incredibly robust, allowing nearly any shape, slope, curve, or notch you can imagine. This wouldn’t matter much if it didn’t sound good, but fortunately for us it sounds amazing! You can glue, enhance, cut, pass, nudge, boost just about anything you can imagine. And, since Neve was placing a great deal of attention to how extreme high frequencies had a pleasant effect on sound in our listening range, and how harmonics balanced with frequency to achieve pleasant sound, he didn’t just seek to make a great spec device that looked great on paper. He made a lasting design that was unique but sonically excellent!
