The Programs
“THE COOLTEC3 MAVEC VACUUM TUBE RECORDING CHANNEL AND EQ” FOR NEBULA PRO is a collection of 14 programs,
all sampled at 96kHz and tested to retain accuracy at 44.1kHz and 48kHz sample rates with the latest
version of Nebula3 Pro. Now, your Nebula Pro Plug-In has become the rarest Pultec in history!
You must be using an updated version of Nebula Pro Commercial for this collection.
It is designed to be used with the “Reverb” instance of Neb Pro.

MAVEC-ALL-ATTEN1
This program provides you with the Mavec Low EQ and High EQ Attenuation all in a single program.
The first controller is labeled “1L2H”. In its first position, the Low Attenuation is selected, and
in the second position it allows you to select the High EQ Attenuation.
The second controller has five positions. When you have selected LOW EQ Attenuation, the first position
is flat, the second reduces your low frequencies from around 500Hz down to 0Hz at -20dB. The third position
reduces your low’s from around 1kHz to 0Hz at -25dB. The fourth position reduces your low’s from around 2kHz to
0Hz at -30dB. The fifth position reduces your low’s from around 5kHz down to 0Hz at -35dB.
When set to High EQ Attenuation, position one is set flat. Position two reduces your high’s from around 1kHz up to over 40kHz at -20dB. In position three, your high’s are reduced from around 5kHz down to around 18kHz at -20dB, with an inverted bell-shape that rises back up to over 40kHz at -13dB. In position four, it reduces your high’s from around 3kHz up to 15kHz at -21dB, with a rise up above 40kHz at -13dB. In position five, your high’s are reduced from around 300Hz to over 40kHz at -25dB.
MAVEC-ALLATTEN1C
MAVEC-ALL-ATTEN2
This program is the same as above with the harmonic content removed.
The High EQ of the Pultec Mavec is broken into two sections; the first is for regular High EQ Boost at several
set frequencies, and the second is specifically for Sibilance. This setting can be complicated to understand, since
your regular Low EQ has a fixed, five position attenuation control, where the High EQ has the same thing, only it is
labaled as “cut” in the sibilance section, and the Sibilance setting has attenuation as a fixed High Shelf with fully
variable gain. To make this easier to follow and use, the names for “cut” and “attenuation” in the High EQ Sibilance
section of the EQ have been reversed. This way, attenuation works the same for High and Low EQ’s, and “cut” operates
as an added gain reduction feature.
Sibilance deals with High EQ, but specifically is recognized as a vocal range often needing to be tailored to prevent an over-emphasis of “S” sounds when a microphone is particularly bright, a preamp is clear and articulate but picks up too much in this Frequency range, or the singer is simply too close to the mic. This can be effective for instruments recorded as well.
MAVEC-ALLATTEN2C
This program is the same as above with the harmonic content removed.
MAVEC-HI-BC
This program provides you with the High Boost frequencies and the High EQ Attenuation settings at the same time.
The boost/cut gain is controlled in 1dB steps from 0dB to 10dB.
2kHz and 3kHz are provided with attenuation position 2. 5kHz is provided with attenuation position 3.
8kHz is provided with attenuation position 4. 15kHz is provided with position 5.
MAVEC-HI-BC CLN
This program is the same as above with the harmonic content removed.
MAVEC-HI-BOOST
This program provides you with the Mavec High EQ Boost at fixed frequencies from 2kHz, 3kHz, 5kHz, 8kHz, and 15kHz.
2kHz is a wide Bell Shape EQ that extends as low as 100Hz and as high as 20kHz, and rises from 20kHz to 40kHz. 3kHz is a medium-wide Bell Shape EQ
that extends from as low as 130Hz to 20kHz, and rises from 20kHz to over 40kHz.
5kHz is a medium Bell Shape EQ that extends from as low as 200Hz to 20kHz, and rises from 20kHz to over 40kHz.
8kHz is a medium Bell Shape EQ that extends from as low as 200Hz to 20kHz, and rises from 20kHz to over 40kHz.
15kHz is a sharp, narrow Bell Shape EQ that extends from as low as 1kHz to 20kHz, and rises from 20kHz to over 40kHz.
The gain is provided from 0dB to 10dB in 1/2 decibel moves. The actual maximum peak is as high as 12dB.
MAVEC-HI-BOOST C
This program is the same as above with the harmonic content removed.
MAVEC-LO-BOOST
This program provides you with the Mavec Low EQ Boost at a fixed Low Shelf EQ that begins at 1kHz all the way down to 0Hz.
Gain is controlled in 1/2 decibel increments from 0dB to 10dB.
MAVEC-LO-BOOST C
This program is the same as above with the harmonic content removed.
MAVEC-HI-CUT
This program provides you with the Mavec High EQ Sibilance Cut at a fixed High Shelf EQ that begins at 200Hz to over 40kHz.
Gain is controlled in 1/2 decibel increments at a maximum reduction of -25dB.
MAVEC-HI-CUT C
CLN
This program is the same as above with the harmonic content removed.
MAVEC-PREAMP
This program provides you with the Mavec driven with a heavy signal level using all 11 Kernels of Harmonic Distortion.
MAVEC-PREAMP C
This program is the same as above with the harmonic content removed.
I truly hope that this collection adds to your enjoyment of Nebula Pro.
Thanks and God Bless You.
Sincerely,
Michael Angel
