SharonVocal1.mp3

This is my beautiful wife Sharon singing for us! The first part is clean, then the Revox, followed by the Wollensak.

string1a.mp3

The first part is clean, followed by the Otari, then the Lafayette,. TEAC, and Studer.

Drum1.mp3

The first part is clean, followed by two different Studer programs, two different Revox programs, One Sony program, two different Akai programs, and two different Wollensak programs. As described in the User’s Manual, I made editing changes (calibrated the machines) specifically for drums on the Revox, Sony, and Akai to increase harmonics and frequency response. This does not work on every source and every proram, but experiment and get to know your equipment. These are truly like having the real machines!

* windchimes.mp3

This is a portion of an original published song of mine called "WindChimes". The first part is clean, followed by an Otari and then a Studer. Listen to the true character of these machines as mastering decks shine through! You have to hear on good monitors to truly appreciate this!

* hidekey.mp3

This is a portion of an original published song of mine called "Hide The Key". This selection gives an excellent indication of how matching the right r2r with the source material can completely reshape the song to what you wish it to be. The first part is clean, followed by an Otari, then a TEAC, and a Revox. Listen to the difference in tonal character, percussive presence, and atmosphere surrounding the instruments!
