The Programs
"The Denmark Blue CL1B Tube Compressor" FOR NEBULA PRO consists of 221 Programs:
You will find these under
"CLB". Go to the Sub-Categories to choose the "COM" for this collection, the Compressor, or "PRE" if you
also have the CL1B Preamp collection.
Programs are sampled at 96kHz and are tested to retain accuracy at 44.1kHz and 48kHz
sample rates with the latest version of Nebula Pro. They are designed to be used with the 'Reverb' instance of Nebula Pro.

CLB>COM>MAN
This selects the CL1B Compressor in Manual Mode. Manual Mode is one of 3 Modes that come from the original hardware unit. In Manual Mode, it is possible to select the length of the Attack and Threshold. Each Nebula Pro Program has been created at its own individial Attack/Release setting to provide you with the most authentic editing setting for that specific attack and release. Disregard the "ATTAC" and "RELEA" controls for all Programs, and use the Program name to select the Attack and Release settings that you wish to use.
CLB>COM>CLN"CNL" stands for "Clean". This means that the programs do not contain Harmonic Distortion. Every other aspect of these programs are the same as their regular versions minus distortion kernsls. This allows you to make use of the compression characteristic of the hardware without adding distortion when desired.
CL1B-100ms-50ms
This is the Compressor in Manual Mode with an Attack of 100ms and a Release of 50ms, with 11 Kernels of harmonic distortion. CLB>COM>FAV
This Category provides you with a special selection of Programs that I have made that represent all of my favorite sounds of the original hardware that has inspired this collection. The Programs will specify whether they are from the Manual Mode of the original hardware or the Fixed-Manual, the latter of which will be explained in its own separate category. The Programs in my Favorites Category are edited to a specific input volume, a specific smooth rate, and a specific Threshold and Ratio that represent the exact sound of the original hardware when fed a signal of the same sonic results. these are great, general purpose programs, and should follow the same general recommendations for Programs that you will find in the "About The Hardware" section of this Manual. For Those looking for a recommendation of a starting point for this Collection, I highly recommend just loading these and placing them on tracks that fit the logic of the Attack/Release times found in the Program Names and leave the settings as they are found when loaded. They can handle any audio Input level, but are specifically optimized so that the harder you hit the level, up to -1dB and even 0dB, the deeper the compression. So, if you work at -18dB full scale, peak, or average, you can experiment with feeding the input louder if you wish to test differing results.

Category:
CLB>COM>HPS
This Category provides you with a carefully designed set of Programs created to widen the scope of the Denmark Blue's capabilities. "HPS" stands for High Pass and Smooth Rate. In most cases, you will find that the "MAN", "FAV", "FM", and "FIX" programs work for most material under the conditions that the Attack and Release times are most appropriate for the given program material. These are designed to react much like the original hardware. However, there are times where certain characteristics in the program material can cause the Nebula Pro version of these settings to react different than the original. It may be any combination of a track that has received a great deal of previous processing, harmonic distortion or saturation, heavy low frequency content, or even subtle oscillation to the signal. In rare circumstances, these characteristics may not adopt perfectly to the programming created in the NebPro engine. Under these conditions, you may hear some artificial overtones or a different attack sound, and it will be obvious. For these purposes, I have created this entirely unique section of programs that still respond with the Attack and Release response of each Program but with a lengthened smoothing rate to the response, and an internal High Pass filter that only applies this compression to the signal above a set low frequency. The result is a smooth response that is refined, smoother, and more transparent than the original device would respond. This can be beneficial for long sustaining instruments, drum bus groups, vocals, and even full mixes, but its primary response has been created as an alternative in case any scenario arises with the "MAN", "FAV", "FM", and "FIX" programs that cause any unwanted side effects.

CLB>COM>RMS
This Category provides you with the same Programs that I have created in the "MAN"
Manual Category. They have been changed to an RMS-type of Compression processing that gives
you all of the benefits of the sound of the real Tube analog behavior with a different
Compression character.
This RMS mode gives the Denmark Blue a slightly quicker, tighter, punchier character
with a little less sustain, fuzz, fizz, and coloration, and a little more modern response.
Experiment using these when you want the tube personality but want a slightly more precise
sounding response and less of the complex response of the original hardware. This group opens
up more possibilities for using this amazing device, and essentially provides an entire
new tube compressor!
All of these "RMS" Programs are titled the same as the "MAN" Category.
This Category provides you with the "MAN" Manual Category Programs with the capability of Sidechaining.
This is a feature of the original hardware unit, and it works under the same principle.
To use Sidechaining in your session, you will place NebPro on Track One with an SC Program.
Send an effect loop out to the Track that you wish to influence the Sidechain input. The result is that
the Track One program material will dunk underneath the signal coming from Track Two. In very small
doses, Sidechaining can give the appearance of auto-mixing around one part without compressing the two
together. In more extreme scenarios, or with different intended timing purposes, Sidechaining can be used
to add the rhythm of one track to another, like pulsing a steady sound with the beat of a second track.
Sidechaining can be used to control frequency response, blend, special effects, and many other uses.
Have fun, learn, and experiment!
This Category provides you with the hardware in what is called "Fixed-Manual" Mode.
This is unique to the original hardware, and provides you with a
fixed Attack setting, similar to its standard fast response, and a flexible
Release control, which has an adaptive release response that combines a quick
response with a manual response. I have created three distinct Programs using this
mode of the hardware, giving a broad usable range that is characteristic
of the original, covering the timing that works best for the Nebula Pro engine.
This is the Compressor in Fixed-Manual Mode with a Fast Release, with 11 Kernels of harmonic distortion.
Threshold and Ratio are fully adjustable and load at their median position.
Drive controls the amount of Harmonic Distortion.
This is the Compressor in Fixed-Manual Mode with a Medium Release, with 11 Kernels of harmonic distortion.
Threshold and Ratio are fully adjustable and load at their median position.
Drive controls the amount of Harmonic Distortion.
This is the Compressor in Fixed-Manual Mode with a Slow Release, with 11 Kernels of harmonic distortion.
Threshold and Ratio are fully adjustable and load at their median position.
Drive controls the amount of Harmonic Distortion.
This Category provides you with the hardware in what is called "Fixed" Mode.
This is unique to the original hardware, and provides you with a
fixed fast Attack and a Fixed 50ms Release.
This is the Compressor in Fixed mode, with 11 Kernels of harmonic distortion.
Threshold and Ratio are fully adjustable and load at their median position.
Drive controls the amount of Harmonic Distortion.
About "THE Denmark Blue CL1B Tube Compressor" FOR NEBULA PRO
"THE Denmark Blue CL1B Tube Compressor" FOR NEBULA PRO provides you with all of the best features
and sonic qualities of the original hardware, but goes beyond these to provide numerous added modes
that you will find satisfy a full range of mixing tasks.
The original hardware reflects the highest build quality and a clean, rich tube musical sound.
In Fixed mode, it provides a recognizable single Attack/Release setting with fast but punchy resposne.
In Fixed-Manual mode, you get a combination of the fast response found in Fixed mode, but
in this instance it also provides flexible Release settings that respond to the overall signal while the
fast Release responds to the widest peak response. Attack is fixed, but adjusting attack in this mode
adjusts the timing of how long it takes for the release to react, while Release time still operates to select
how long it takes to let go of the signal.
