    The Programs

"The GEQ 8300 (It is the 8200!)" GREAT Mastering EQ For Nebula" consists of 15 programs:
You will find these in your Nebula "GEQ" category.

Programs are sampled at 96kHz and are tested to retain accuracy at 44.1kHz and 48kHz
sample rates with the latest version of Nebula3 Pro.

Programs are fully organized and categorized for easiest use in Nebula3. Click one time on
"GEQ" and you will see all 15 programs. Click a second time and you will find the Programs
    divided into two sub-categories:
EQ and PRE, standing for "GEQ 8300" equalizer programs and preamp programs.

Click on "EQ" and you will be given two categories:

"CLN" for Clean EQ with no harmonic content
"DST" for EQ with 1st and 2nd order harmonics

Click on "PRE" and you will see all 'console' or preamp programs listed. Click a second time to choose from the following sub-categories:

"ALL" - A single program with adjustable drive
    "HI" - Highest saturation programs
    "LOW" - Cleanest programs
    "MED" - Moderate saturation programs

    Program Description:

    GEQ Narrow

This program includes complex harmonic content, and represents a very thin "Q" width excellent for use in eliminating audible problems in tracks and mixes, like string buzz, hiss, etc. Also, this is excellent for accenting a strong single band within dense material. like a clean hi hat or airy vocal.

    Frequencies:

    40Hz,
    80Hz,
    100Hz
    150Hz
    200Hz
    300Hz
    400Hz
    500Hz
    800Hz
    1500Hz
    3000Hz
    7500Hz
    12000Hz
    16000Hz
    19000Hz

    Gain: +/- 15dB. .5dB steps from +/- 6.5dB.

    GEQ Medium

This program contains complex harmonic content, and is a typical "Q" width for general purpose mixing and mastering. Use this eq wherever you desire; it sounds good on everything!

    Frequencies:

    30Hz
    50Hz
    90Hz
    120Hz
    200Hz
    2000Hz
    4000Hz
    6000Hz
    9000Hz
    16000Hz
    24000Hz

    Gain: +/- 15dB. .5dB steps from +/- 6.5dB.

    GEQ Wide

This program contains complex harmonic content, and is a very wide "Q" for general purpose mixing and mastering. Like all settings on the GEQ, every setting sounds excellent! Of particular specialty is the ability to bring things together in mastering, sweeten important elements of a mix, and to control the 'difference' of spectrum overlaps like room acoustics and up-front instruments. This setting sounds great even with 15dB boost!

    Frequencies:

    100Hz
    300Hz
    1000Hz
    4000Hz
    7000Hz
    18000Hz
    26000Hz

    Gain: +/- 15dB. .5dB steps from +/- 6.5dB.

    GEQ Shelf

This program contains complex harmonic content, and is a High/Low Shelving eq. It is extremely flexible and pure sounding, with fully adjustable slope points.

    Frequencies:

    15Hz
    30Hz
    80Hz
    150Hz
    300Hz
    600Hz
    800Hz
    2000Hz
    4000Hz
    8000Hz
    12000Hz
    16000Hz
    20000Hz

    Gain: +/- 15dB. .5dB steps from +/- 6.5dB.

    GEQ Nar Clean

This is the same as "Narrow" with no harmonic content. Use this for a completely clean linear sample.

    GEQ Med Clean

This is the same as "Medium" with no harmonic content. Use this for a completely clean linear sample.

    GEQ Wide Clean

This is the same as "Wide" with no harmonic content. Use this for a completely clean linear sample.

    GEQ Shelf Clean

This is the same as "Shelf" with no harmonic content. Use this for a completely clean linear sample.

    GEQ Pre

This program is a single 'console' or preamp program that provides you the wonderful sound of the hardware with all eq's set flat but turned on. It uses all 11 kernels of distortion and is edited to provide you with a range of the hardware's performance 'at spec'. This means that you can use the "Drive" setting at any level from +/-30dB to go from clean to driven, while staying within the units optimized performance. Use this program anywhere in your recording chain where you wish to emulate using a console of pristine sound quality with no capacitors, transformers, etc in the signal path, but with full dynamic subtle analog flavor.

    GEQ Pre Hi1

This follows the same qualities as "GEQ Pre", but the "Drive" setting has been fixed to an edited setting that is best for adding a lot of non-linear harmonic content. This represents pushing the unit hard with a lot of gain.

    GEQ Pre Hi2

This is the same as "Hi1" at a slightly lower amount of saturation.

    GEQ Pre Low1

This is the same concept as "Hi1" and "Hi2" at a fixed clean setting and fewer distortion kernels.

    GEQ Pre Low2

This is the same concept as "Low1" at an even cleaner setting.

    GEQ Pre Med1

This is the same concept as "Hi1" at a moderate saturation level.

    GEQ Pre Med2

This is the same as "Med1" with slightly less saturation.

    About The Hardware

This eq has become perhaps the most highly-acclaimed eq for mastering. It shares the rich history in design from the original sweep-tunable, parametric eq. Created as the ultimate mixing version from a legendary shared-design, it has truly become a favorite mastering eq the world over. Its origin is known to have begun in the early '70's as a design requiring no inductors or any signal-altering items in the path. Following its lineage from the '130' to the '430', to what is known as a variant '8000' series today, this is the ultimate no-compromise eq.

Where eq's like the Pultec, and 'The Peak' are seen as the ultimate in colorful frequency adjustment worthy of mastering any material, the 'GEQ' has been designed for absolute purity in the signal path. Now that it resides in Nebula form, it functions as a fully repeatable mastering eq, containing harmonic content and perfectly clean versions.
